Top 10 Reasons To Retire in the Philippines

As an expat living in manila and cebu for the last 10 years i can think of more than a 1000 reasons why to retire in the Philippines - for now ill give you ten...


1. the dollar is 40 to 1 - back in the heydays of the greenback it was 56 pesos to 1 dollar - but hey thats still 40 times a buck is worth -

2. The women are plentiful and beautiful - im not a handsome men but they do like white folk here! ( Hell I think its one of the few places left in the world where American's aren't villified)

3. if your a woman - shopping is cheap. getting your hair done is dirt cheap. everything is cheap - i get my haircut for a dollar and that comes with a five minute massage too !

4. the beaches - boracay, cebu, ilocos, over 7000 islands to choose from - each wioth its own blesssed strip of white sand

5. having beach front property for less than 5,000 dollars ( that includes the land baby..) imagine waking up to a white sandy beach.....every day

6. property is cheap - you can get a condo - a real good one - complete with an infinity pool, spa, gym, tennis courts for 70,000 - 100,000 dollars - and that's in Makati ( like the Manhattan of manila) a house ioutside of manila - 50,000 - 125,000 dollars

7. Live in maids and drivers - they do everything for me god bless 'em! - 100 dollars for the maid 150 dollars for the driver - per month

8. food is plentiful and cheap - tropical delights - mangos, papaya, the best tropical fruits are found here, fish and meats, the groceries all stock european and american fare - its the best of both worlds

9. restaurants - way cheap - i can get a steak for $3.50 - eat at fancy restaurants for $10.00
including tip!

10. the people are good. they will go out of their way for you - you will never lack for friends, you will never be lonely - I love the Filipinos ( my maids speak English too - beat that!)
